Who Created the Peach Rings Strain?

Dying Breed Seeds Made the Original Cross

Dying Breed Seeds built its reputation in Mendocino County, deep inside the Emerald Triangle, alongside the TerpHogz and 3rd Gen crew that pushed Z and the candy wave that followed. That context isn’t always given. The breeder worked in a scene that valued flavor before the rest of the market caught up, and Peach Ringz came out of that same instinct.

The cross itself joins Marionberry and Eddy OG. Most listings write the name as Peach Ringz, though shops and consumers usually shorten it to Peach Rings. Tiki Madman later selected an elite clone from the line and carried it forward, which is how the cut reached a much wider audience. That selection reads heavier on peach caramel, with the OG side sitting right behind it.

Marionberry Brings the Fruit

Marionberry, sometimes called Marionberry Kush, traces back to Heroes of the Farm and Tony Chubbs. The cross combines Raspberry Kush with Space Queen, and it grows compact and productive. Breakers describe dense flowers and a deep aroma of berry, plum, and dark cherry.

That parent supplies the sugar in Peach Rings. It also supplies the tartness that keeps the peach note from flattening into pure candy. Without the Marionberry side, this cross would smell far more generic.

Eddy OG, the Overlooked Parent

Marionberry takes most of the credit in the Peach Rings pedigree, and that shortchanges Eddy OG. Growers also call it OG Eddy Lepp, a nod to a name tied to California medical cannabis history. Most accounts connect the line to Grape Ape and OG Kush stock.

Eddy OG hands down the structure, the flower density, and the earthy fuel that runs under the fruit. It also drives resin. Cannasseurs who love this cultivar usually love it for the tension between the two halves. Sweet on top, gas underneath, and neither side wins outright.

Peach Rings Strain Genetics and Family Tree

Peach Rings leans indica, though phenos vary and plenty smoke closer to balanced. Reported potency generally lands in the high teens to low twenties, and lab numbers shift with the run. What the strain passes down matters more than any single test result.

Breeders keep reaching for it because it stamps a clean peach note onto whatever it touches. It also stacks trichomes, which explains why it keeps showing up in solventless-focused projects. Cross it into a candy line and you get peach. Cross it into gas and you get peach with teeth.

Appearance, Aroma, and Flavor of the Peach Rings Strain

Peach Rings flowers grow into spade-shaped nugs in minty green, often with dark olive undertones. Thin amber pistils weave through the bracts, and a thick coating of small white trichomes fuzzes out the leaf detail underneath. Some phenos throw purple in cooler finishes.

The nose opens sweet and sour at the same time, exactly like the candy. A spicy floral edge sits behind the fruit and keeps the aroma from going flat. Limonene usually leads the terpene profile, with the OG side contributing the earthy backbone.

The smoke follows the nose closely, which does not always happen with fruit-forward genetics. Expect peach first, a sour snap in the middle, and a soft fuel finish. Growers who wash this line report a clean melt and a flavor that survives the process.

Peach Rings Strain Effects

Smokers describe Peach Rings as a slow settle rather than a rush. A light cerebral lift may arrive first, along with a mild mood boost that might not push energy in either direction. A relaxing body feel tends to follow and build.

Many people reach for this cultivar late in the evening for that reason. It might suit consumers with some experience more than a first-timer. Everyone reacts differently, so start low and give it time. We do not work with Peach Rings because candy strains trend. We work with it because the peach expression holds up in a cross, and because the overall smokeable or washable output makes it worth the tent space.

Peach Belts crosses Peach Rings with Rainbow Belts 2.0 and came together through our Zephyr Seeds collaboration. Rainbow Belts 2.0 comes from taking a Rainbow Belts male back to the Rainbow Belts #20 breeder cut. The original Rainbow Belts came from Z and Moonbow. That side runs sugary candy, lime, and with a gassy finish.

Put the two together and you get creamy peach layered over sour candy, with berry and grape notes filling in behind. Plants grow tall and stack dense flowers in mixed green and purple. Those plants wash well, which puts this one squarely in reach for hash makers. Most runs finish in roughly 56 to 63 days indoors, and outdoor plants come down around the end of September.
